Tehama Client Overview

The Tehama Client is a desktop application that lives on the computer from which you connect to your virtual Tehama Desktop sessions.

Its purpose is to launch and host these sessions.

(The Tehama Client uses Teradici PCoIP technology.)


Once you are assigned to a Tehama Desktop in a Room in your Tehama organization, one of the first things you should do is install the Tehama Client on the machine (computer) from which you will be running your Desktop sessions.

You will be prompted to install it the first time you attempt to connect to your Desktop, if you have not installed it yet.

Run the installation instructions for your machine type:


For the most part, the Tehama Client runs completely in the background on your machine. Once installed, it waits for you to connect to a virtual Tehama Desktop session from the Tehama Web UI. When you click the connect button in the Tehama Web UI, Tehama starts the Tehama Client in the background, sends it the virtual desktop's connection info, your username on the desktop and your time-limited password. The Tehama Client takes that information and launches the session for you. See the section Connect to a Desktop (single click) in the Desktops User Guide.

At times, you may need to launch a Tehama Desktop session directly from the Teradici PCoIP Client. On those occasions, you can obtain your virtual desktop's connection info, username and password from the Tehama Web UI, then manually start the Tehama Client, enter this data into its UI and launch the session. Platform Compatibility: Tehama Client supports Windows 10 versions up to 1909 as well as Windows Server 2019, MacOSX from Mojave to Big Sur (Apple M1 hardware is not supported) and Ubuntu Linux 18.04.

Device Support: Tehama Client supports the use in your Tehama desktop session of USB devices, displays, and tablets, (like scanners, smartcard readers, Wacom tablets, Speech mikes, or headsets) that are connected to your host machine.
